Internet Safety

Posting a risqué photo is fine, as long as it really is you and not someone else.

Posting: "I just got accepted to my first choice college!"

You can choose to make your online profile completely private.

Posting: A picture of you at a soccer match with your school's name showing on your jersey.

Posting: A picture of you holding a cigarette in your hand.

If you don't use your real name on a website, your messages are anonymous.

Posting: "I'll be at the park tonight. Are you guys going too?"

As long as you never meet an online buddy in person, the person can't harm you.

Posting: "We're organizing canned goods drive this Sat to benefit the Senior Center."

Posting: "I'm going to be babysitting for Mrs. Esteban this weekend."

When posting on social media: "My family's going to the beach for July 4th! Whoo hoo!"

If you get an online message to meet a friend, there's no reason to worry.

Posting: A picture of you sitting on the back of your family's new car w/ license plate showing

Posting: A picture of you and your best friend in your pajamas.
