Literature in play form

A technique that presents the flow of a character's seemingly unconnected thoughts, responses, and sensations.

A short speech directed to the audience, or another character, that is not heard by the other characters of stage

An overused expression

A subdivision of an act in drama

The social conditions that inspired or influenced a piece of literature

The part of literature that provides the background information necessary to understand characters and their actions

An underlying message that is found throughout the literature of all time periods

A writer's use of hints or clues to indicate events that will occur in a story

The stage of a plot in which conflicts develops and story events build toward a climax
