Black wealth in the US refers to the assets and resources that have been owned by the Black community throughout history. Despite facing systemic barriers such as slavery, segregation, and workplace discrimination, there have been instances of black wealth creation, such as during the Reconstruction era and in the Black Wall Street community in Tulsa, Oklahoma. However, events like the Tulsa Race Massacre and the Great Recession have had a significant impact on black wealth.
