G10 Pre-ACT Info Session

STEM score is the average of the math and science test scores.

ACT is short for American College Testing.

The test includes 4 timed sections: English, Math, Reading and Science.

University outside the US will also require either the ACT or SAT test as part of admissions.

Unlike the ACT, the highest possible PreACT score is a 35.

Composite Scores are the average of the English, math, reading and science test scores, rounded to a whole number.

Not every international school has the opportunity to take the Pre-ACT exam.

While the SAT offers students basic formulas at the beginning of the Math section, the ACT suite of tests does not.

Test-takers may use approved calculators on the exam.

Unlike the ACT, Pre-ACT does NOT test trigonometry.

Like the PSAT, Pre-ACT is never intended to be seen or used by colleges.

The Science section mostly tests scientific reasoning, rather than scientific knowledge.

In the Maths section, questions get harder in the end.

The PreACT can earn you scholarships if you choose to have the agency send your scores to colleges.

Most students do NOT take the ACT until the spring of their Grade 11.
