Science: Chapter 1 - Lesson 3: Plants

Cells that transport water and minerals from roots to shoots in plants

Photosynthesis is performed in what part of the plant?

A seed that does not produce a flower?

A layer in the plant stem that separates xylem and phloem

The two types of stems are

Plants need these three things for photosynthesis

Tough outer covering of a tree is the

The process that plants use to produce their food and give off oxygen?

The break down of sugars in plant and animal cells to produce energy and carbon dioxide

Which plant grows taller?

Three basic parts of seed plants...

A seed that produces a flower?

Two major groups in the plant kingdom

The part of the plant the absorbs water and minerals, stores food, and anchors the plant?

Which stems contain chlorophyll?

When water moves up the vascular tubes through stomata, this occurs?

Cells that move sugars up, down and all around a plant?

Stems have two functions

Which of these is NOT a function of the roots
