Part 4 Chpt 9/10 RS 260

When manipulating images, the technologist should be careful not to...

Cost per gigabyte is a bit higher for a magneto-optical disk.

Short-term storage is available w/in __ to __ seconds.

You can query a study on multiple fields, such as...

Short-term storage sizes ranges from several hundred gigabytes to several terabytes.

Read prompt below:

is the hardware and software infrastructure of a computer system.

In RAID 3, there is one disk set aside for error correction, this disk is known as a ___ disk.

Workflow is the same for every radiology department.

A 3K monitor's resolution is...

There are __ RAID levels that are considered the most common.

Direct attached storage (DAS) is directly connected via cable connections.

A ___ is the current or previous exam being viewed.

If PACS is down, the modality can still print directly to the imager.

In network attached storage (NAS), load cannot be balanced throughout the servers.

Distributed systems are also known as distributed or stand-alone models.

PACS was developed by:

For dry imagers quality ___ over time, especially if stored in a warm environment.

Is the ground work for future integrated MIMPS-now each modality and MIMPS communicate via DICOM.

DVDs have a much ___ capacity.

Read prompt below:

Multiplanar reconstruction increases radiation to the patient and increases scan time.

More pixels = ?

Digital linear tape (DLT) has a storage capacity range from __ to __ GB.

Display workstations primary use can be:

Radiologists and physicians can consult while viewing the same images at different locations using MIMPS.

In an archive server, a tier represents a specific level of archive.

___, meaning that additional libraries can be added to the original.

You can __ an image left or right and __ the image 90 degrees clockwise or counter clockwise.

The Storage Area Network (SAN) provides exceptional response speed.

Most interactive part of the medical viewing system:

CCD film digitizers are more expensive than laser digitizers.

LCD monitors give out less light.

Equal in quality, but currently the CCD digitizers are ___ expensive.

It's impossible in a distributed system for two radiologists to read the same exam and not know until dictation starts.

RAID 1 has full redundancy.

Ultra density optical (UDO) are a ___ generation of Magento-Optical Disk (MOD).

Patterson, Gibson, and Katz were the first to coin the acronym RAID.

Striping of date decreases the reliability and performance of the system.

Medical displays are generally lower quality than displays for other applications.

Image is first ___ up to the magnification level.

Image manipulation and enhancement functions are:

Read prompt below:

The ___ controls receipt, storage and distribution of new and historic images.

Laser film digitizers can scan at various resolutions up to __ & __ bit depending on the application need.

Error correction cannot detect any transmission errors.

The price of storage per gigabyte is much more w/jukeboxes.

Film digitizers, imagers and CD burners are common components in a ___.

Read prompt below:

___-term storage products still widely used are optical disk, tape, and magnetic disk.

RAID 5 is similar to RAID 3.

The image manager plays a minimal role in populating image information into the hospital electronic medical record (EMR)

Images can be transferred on a computer network.

Volume rendering techniques (VRT) uses a ___-type graph to differentiate the various structures.

Common uses of imagers....

Image post processing is considered an advanced function of the workstation.

The image manager contains only the image header information, not image data.

___ ___ involves making copies of each tape or disk and storing them in another location.

In distributed systems:

Archive servers are not considered the central part of PACS.

Tape is fairly low cost in various sizes.

It may be software to manage the images within the physical storage.

A common measurement tool used is region of interest (ROI).

Described as all components used to house, transfer, and manipulate a medical image.

In the early days of PACS, radiologists used __ to __ monitors.

Can be described as an electronic version of the radiologists reading room and the file room...

Wet imagers require less space than dry imagers.

In web-based systems, they have limited hardware flexibility.

Provides the greatest scalability of the long-term archive options.

A major advantage is that dry imagers need only an outlet and a network connection to the department modalities.
