An object’s weight:

iscaused because it is pulled towards the Earth

Which statement is true?

Gravity depends on how close a spacecraft is to a planet.

A TV satellite would be put into which type of orbit?

geostationary, so it stays above the same place on Earth.

The direction ‘down’ is:

towards the centre of the Earth.

Hammer & feather are dropped at the same time from the same height on the moon. Which is true?

They hit the ground at the same time

Gravity is less on the Moon than on the Earth because:

the Moon has less mass than the Earth.

gets less if two objects get further apart.

Which statement is not true?

Only large objects like the Earth produce a force of gravity

Why does the hammer fall faster than the feather on Earth?

The feather is affected more by air resistance

A hammer and feather are dropped from the same height at the same time on Earth. Which is true?

The hammer hits the ground first

Why are the results of the hammer and feather experiment different on the moon?

The moon has no atmosphere (so has no air)

Which statement is true?
There is no gravity in space.
Gravity depends on how close a spacecraft is to a planet.
Gravity always pulls a spacecraft towards the nearest planet
Gravity is the same at all times during a space journey.
5
A TV satellite would be put into which type of orbit?
polar, so it stays above the same place on the Earth.
polar, so it covers all parts of the Earth.
geostationary, so it covers all parts of the Earth.

magnetism.
the gravity pull from the Sun.
13
Gravity:
does not depend on distance.
gets less if two objects get further apart.
gets less if two objects get closer together.
gets bigger if two objects get further apart.
14
Which statement is not true?
The Earth attracts objects because it has a large mass.
Your body is attracting the Earth.
