To find the value or solve.

A number with no variable attached (it's just a number).

A group of terms. Contains numbers, operations (+, -, x), and variables. DOES NOT contain an equal sign. (5+3 or 4m-6)

A math sentence that states two quantities are equal. It will have an equal sign (5+3=8 or 4m-5=20).

The number that is multiplied by a variable.

Terms that have the same variable, such as y and 2y.

The number of times the base is repeatedly multiplied.

A number multiplied by itself the number of times shown by an exponent.

A mathematical phrase that has at least one variable and at least one operation.

Two values, numbers, or quantities which are the same.

Each part of an expression that is separated by a plus or a minus sign.

A letter that represents a number we do not know yet.

To replace a variable with a number.
