Saying something is like something else to make some sort of explanatory point.

The character who opposes or creates conflict for the protagonist in a literary work.

A character whom we know very few details about (MINOR character).

Very complex characters (we know many of their traits and they are MAJOR characters).

This is what the story is "mainly" about.

Figurative Language in which words are spelled to imitate the sounds they make.

This is created by the author's use of words to reflect the author's feelings toward a subject.

A character who does not change during the story (they have the same personality from beginning to end).

A figure of speech in which a comparison is being made without using like or as.

A figure of speech in which a comparison between two things is being made using "like" or "as."
