Chapter 16 The Atom REVIEW

Scientific theories work with laws to explain the laws. They don't turn into laws.

Elemental symbols always start with a

The nucleus contains

A hypothesis guesses, a law describes, a theory explains, and a model shows something natural.

Quarks were discovered with the Large Hadron Collider which is a

A well-supported explanation of how or why something happens in nature is a

Having a different _____________ would cause a change in the atom's mass.

When a scientific theory gets enough evidence it becomes a law.

Atomic Mass is the

In order to change a scientific theory, there must be a ton of evidence and agreement.

Scientific laws and theories never turn into the other because they are two different things.
