Not actually random, but appears to be random

This is the function that is called when you click run.

Give the command so the computer will run the code for that function.

Names a process and allows it to be used only knowing what it does, and not necessarily how it does it. (aka Function)

A set of steps or rules to follow to solve a particular problem.

A variable that can be used throughout a program, in every scope

Sets of clearly defined methods that allow communication between different parts of the computer.

A variable that is restricted to use in a certain scope of a program

Repetition of instructions a specified number of times, or until a condition is met.

Used to make logical associations between boolean values

Teach the program a new command and explain what it should do when receiving it.

A variable passed in from outside the function

Multiple program statements that are part of a program.

How a program behaves during execution and how a user interacts with it. In essence, what the program does.

Code that teaches the program a new command.

Exit a function and pass back a value

Using a condition to determine which part of an algorithm is executed.

Subdivision of a computer program into separate subprograms or functions.

Step by step execution of instructions in the order they are given.

Why the programmer created this program, such as solve a problem or pursue an interest through creative expression.

Any data sent from a program to a device, in a variety of forms, such as tactile, audible, visual, movement or text.

The part of a function that contains the commands

Process of finding and fixing problems in code

Another word for a function, which is a way to teach the program a new command. Called a function in JavaScript.

Data that are sent to a computer for processing by a program, such as tactile (through touch), audible, visual, or text.

To generate or select a random object

Used to make comparisons between values.

Managing complexity by "abstracting away" information and detail, in order to focus on the relevant concepts.

The plain version of the programming language with built-in functions that you use.

In what part of the program the variable exists

The value of the parameter(s) when a procedure is called.

The information returned from a function when the function is called.

Variable in a function definition. Used as a placeholder for values that will be passed through the function.
