7
lightness constancy is...
we see the lightness of an object surface as being (constant)
all of these
an object's lightness does not change regardless of the brightness
8
Object properties is the color of an object that depends...
on the lighting in the room
on the degree of reflectance vs absorption of various wavelengths

11
Locomotion is..
all of these
enlarging, expanding, widening-dilations
becoming narrower and tighter-contraction
12
Color constancy mechanisms partially cancel the effects of different light sources, ie.
the shape doesn't change
starlight is bent by the curvature of the sun
a book is the same color whether the room is lit or dim lit
looming allows us to know the object doesn't change color
13
Experience and knowledge: previous experience about what objects are likely can influence perception, this is called:
environmental properties
looming
"Bottom-up" control of perception
"Top-down" control of perception
14
How does a photoreceptor transduce energy?
absorbs a photon of light, changing its rate of neurotransmitter release
reflections of light off the water
inheritance of gamma and ultraviolet rays in the nucleus
none of these
15
What is the visible spectrum for humans?

the door opening doesn't change it,the door is still the same size + shape
none
all of the above
even though a door moves, the shape doesnt change
18
