Regions defined by people's perception (middle east, the South, etc.)

Imaginary line drawn from the North Pole through Greenwich, England to the South Pole

This involves the grouping of places with similar characteristics or attributes.

The imaginary line that circles the globe (East to West) halfway between the North and South Poles.

This type of map shows state and country lines

It’s the largest and longest river in China (over 3,900 miles) and the third longest in the world.

This focuses on the physical and human characteristics that make a location unique.

China’s second longest river. Chinese civilization began in the central area of this river basin.

Lines drawn in north-south direction and measure distance east and west of the Prime Meridian

A system of communication used by a particular country or community.

Begins in the Himalayas in Tibet and runs through India and Pakistan. Center of the earliest civilization in India.

The movement to and clustering of people in towns and cities.

The transition from creating goods by hand to using machines.

Refers to the specific position or whereabouts of a place on the Earth's surface, can be relative or absolute

Low latitude areas near the equator that receive great amounts of solar energy year round.

Measurement used when using latitude and longitude.

Lines drawn in east-west direction and measure distance north and south of the equator.

A deep inlet of the sea almost surrounded by land, with a narrow mouth.

Lie along the northern edge of the Indian subcontinent and form the southern border of China. Tallest mountain range.

Flows south through China, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and finally Vietnam, where it empties into S. China Sea.
