This research study found that falls cases in older residential aged care residents occurred:

More often during late morning and later in evenings.

A 'research design' helps researchers:

Identify - in-advance - a plan for how to conduct a study.

'Dispatch coded data' in this study was the information provided:

To paramedics in transit to a patient who had a fall.

Kate Cantwell and her colleague's study was:

A retrospective descriptive study.

This research study benefits paramedic services as Kate Cantwell stated in the video:

The findings help the service plan workload demands.

Research questions (or research aims) are important because:

They are the reason the research is being undertaken.

A 'research question' or 'research aim' is referred to at the end of a study:

To discuss if the study achieved its objective.

Answers

1
This research study found that falls cases in older residential aged care residents occurred:
Less often than for people living in own homes.
More often during meal times.
More often during late morning and later in evenings.
More often when facilities were well staffed.
2
A 'research design' helps researchers:
Identify - in-advance - a plan for how to conduct a study.
Develop their research questions.
Plan their journeys to collect data.
Develop a visual map of how their research will look.
3
A good way of assessing if a research design is appropriate for a research question/aims is to:
Read the research aims again.
Try to understand and learn about the research design.
Confirm that the research study achieved its aims.
All of the above.
4
The research design - retrospective descriptive analysis - is a:
Qualitative design.
Insufficient information to determine the answer.
Quantitative design.
Mixed methods design.
5
'Dispatch coded data' in this study was the information provided:
To the caller who reported the fall.
To paramedics in transit to a patient who had a fall.
To doctors in the emergency department.
None of the above.
6
Kate Cantwell and her colleague's study was:
A Clinical Trial.
An ethnographic study.
A retrospective descriptive study.
A type of action research.
7
Cantwell and colleagues justified the need for their research by noting in their introduction:
A high incidence of falls is reported in community settings.
All of the above
Previous studies support the need to know where falls occur.
Knowledge gaps for incidence of falls and 000 responses
8
This research study benefits paramedic services as Kate Cantwell stated in the video:
The findings help the service plan workload demands.
Publications improves the research profile of paramedics.
Older people who fall need paramedics quickly.
More paramedics are needed as the population ages.
9
Research questions (or research aims) are important because:
Reveal what data is to be collected.
Help identify the research design for the study.
They are clearly and directly stated.
They are the reason the research is being undertaken.
10
A 'research question' or 'research aim' is referred to at the end of a study:
As it is a standard to discuss it at that point.
To check what the findings revealed.
To check the researchers conducted the study efficiently.
