Managing client resources, ensuring user access & controlling file access

Disadvantage of P2P Networks include:

• Not scalable, not very secure & not practical for large installations

Layer 4: The Transport Layer

Moves application data between applications.

Layer 7: The application layer

The interface between two applications, on separatecomputers

Two main Transport layer protocols: UDP (User Datagram Protocol)

Does not guarantee delivery or verify receipt; a connectionless protocol.

What is the Seven Layer OSI Model

How software, protocols, and hardware interact in a network system

Layer 3: Network Layer

Moves messages between nodes until they reach the destination

Layer 2: Data Link Layer

Responsible for interfacing with physical hardware on the local network
