Why can't a cache always be as large as the device it caches (i.e., disk)?
- Cache cannot store data as efficiently as secondary storage.
- Cache is volatile and loses data when power is off.
- The OS cannot manage a cache larger than main memory
- Large caches cause significant slowdowns in data retrieval.
