chapter 8 anatomy, Chapter 8 Neuromuscular & Myofascial Review

what is the reflex arc for the stretch reflex

system in which tension  between two opposite forces is balanced to create structural integrity

slow twitch fibers they also have a fast rate and velocity of contraction

most abundant of the facial sensory receptors has 2 types : low threshold pressure  (LTP)high threshold pressure

the sense of movement is the Definition of kinesthesia

the antagonist of the biceps brachii is the ... ?

Slow-twitch fibers have a reddish appearance, and the ability to produce large amounts of ATP to sustain work

high density of both mitochondria and myoglobin plus a rich supply of capillaries. 50/50 mixed fiber types is

used to map the fascial connections that line and communicate tension from sole of the foot to the forehead

definition of Muscle recruitment is the pattern of stimulation and coactivation between muscle groups

key characters  of _____ localized spasm is due to neurological signal

knowledge of these  myofascial connections provides a MT with a “map” to help guide their ax procedures & tx choices.

The reflex mechanism that coordinates the effort between agonist and antagonist muscle is called ?

the deepest layer of facia is visceral

adductor longus is an examples of postural muscle

Epimysium, perimysium & endomysium of the skeletal muscle collectively form which of the four fascial tubes in the body

Action to stimulate the inverse stretch reflex?

Provides structural strengths to the torso and supports the major blood vessels, nerves and organs within.

Ruffini’s corpuscles are sensitive to long-term pressure and are plentiful in all the fascial layers

motor end plate dysfunction causes an energy crisis and “ calcium spill” into sarcomere, leading to actin-myosin bonding

Body tensegrity system, which components serve as the compression spacers?

increased facial tone in axial layer can limit range of motion by altering muscle tone

this increased tension of the intrafusal fibers heightens the propriocepter’s sensitivity to the rate of length

facia is considered a combination of all other layers that organize and surround individual muscles, bones and organs

ability to extend and slow rebound is called viscoelasticity

person’s sense of body  position is the definition of proprioception

motor units recruitment regulates the force of contractions (G.R) and helps control MM fatigue in postural MM

what is made up of the alpha sensory neuron looped around the central reg. of the mm spindle and the alpha motor neuron
