Mrs. Carmack Human Body Chapter 7 Muscular System

Flexes the knee

The two thread like proteins that slide to generate a muscle to contraction are:

Are the fibrous tissues that attach muscles to bones

Energy molecule

Jaw

Which type of muscle is under voluntary control?

Which type of muscle is found attached to the bones?

Dorsiflexes foot

The thick protein filaments in a muscle cell are made of

Progressive descending muscle spasms, caused by a particular type of wound infection

Calf

Abducts the shoulder

which is stored in sarcoplasmic reticulum allow cross bridges to form between actin and myosin:

a test where a muscle group is stimulated with an electrical impulse that causes contraction

Pain and inflammation in the anterior lower leg, often Associated with running

Extends the knee

Anterior upper arm

Which type of muscle is found in the blood vessels and airways?

From sternum to clavicle and temporal bone

The point of_ is the end of the muscle that is attached to a stationary bone

Back of thigh

Encircles

Progressive muscle weakness and muscle fiber Disintegration caused by a genetic defect

Muscle  partial contraction and resistance to stretching shown even when a muscle is at rest?

Chest

An acute muscle injury caused by overstretching

Posterior upper arm

A sudden, intense, involuntary muscle contraction

Flexes the elbow

A disorder caused by autoimmune attack of the Neuromuscular junction

Shoulder

Extends the elbow

Attach bones to each other ( attach bone to bone)

Floor of the thoracic cavity

Main muscle of breathing

This substance is released by the nervous system and excites muscle cells

The point of _ is the end of the muscle attached to a moving bone

Which type of muscle does not have striations?

The thin protein filaments in a muscle cell are made of:

Between the ribs

When a muscle increases in diameter, this increased growth and development is called:

A disorder with chronic, bilateral pain in 11 of 18 specific locations

Buttocks

Points toes downward

Front of the thigh

When a muscle begins to waste away because of disuse, this is called?

Front of lower leg

Which type of muscle is found in the heart?
