Scientific Method

This stays the same throughout the experiment.

This records observations and displays in an organized table, chart or graph.

This describes what didn't turn out and what could be a reason why.

This predicts the answer to your question.  Written as an "If..., then..." statement.

This gives an explanation for choosing your hypothesis - based on science or prior knowledge.

This describes and analyzes data mathematically. Connects patterns.

This is the instructions or procedures.  They are clearly written and easy to follow. 

This is testable.  It relates to the effect of one variable upon the other.

This lists any new questions that you have as a result of the investigation.

This provides an answer to the question and supports or disproves the hypothesis.

This gets manipulated.  ("I change this.")

This lists all needed supplies.

This identifies your independent variable, dependent variable, constants and controls.

This responds to the independent variable.

This part of the experiment is what you are comparing the other parts to.
